La caligrafía ocupa una posición muy especial en el arte del Islam, ya que está estrechamente relacionada con la revelación coránica.

La caligrafía árabe existe en todos los tamaños y sobre todos los materiales de expresión artística.

Las obras más importantes son las que desde el siglo VIII fueron escritas sobre papel con una sencilla pluma.

Tiene 28 fonemas y se escribe de derecha a izquierda.

 

 

En las escribanías, se hicieron ejemplares del Corán sobre perga­mino en forma apaisada y se diseñaron inscripciones que se grababan en piedra y se aplicaban en edificios.

También se tejían en telas como ornamentos o se bordaban.

La escritura árabe tiene sencillas formas básicas, pero es irregular en las proporciones.

Pequeñas formas redondas se encuen­tran junto a largos y finos trazos verticales, y los arcos redondos resaltan hacia abajo.

Una y otra vez los calígrafos se esforzaban por crear un equilibrio y de esta manera surgió la escritura cúfica «floreciente» o «adornada’.

Mientras el Corán se escribía en pergamino, se conservó la escritura cúfica.

Pero en el siglo XII también se había ya impuesto aquí el papel, y la escritura cúfica dejó de utilizarse como escritura del Corán y se convirtió rápidamente en una forma de arte.

Desde mi punto de vista, todos y cada uno de nosotros deberíamos hacernos con una copia del Corán, sobre todo para que no sigan engañándonos a los demás con su contenido. Es gratuito descargarlo por Internet y su contenido no les pasará desapercibido.
