Antoni Gaudí i Cornet.
(Reus o 25 de junio de 1852-Barcelona, 10 de junio de 1926).
Fue un arquitecto español, máximo representante del modernismo catalán.
Gaudí fue un arquitecto con un sentido innato de la geometría y el volumen, así como una gran capacidad imaginativa
Dominaba él mismo a la perfección: cerámica, vidriería, forja de hierro, carpintería, etc.
Asimismo, introdujo nuevas técnicas en el tratamiento de los materiales, como su famoso “trencadís” hecho con piezas de cerámica de desecho.
En 1883 aceptó hacerse cargo de continuar las recién iniciadas obras del Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia.
Gaudí modificó totalmente el proyecto inicial, convirtiéndola en su obra cumbre, conocida y admirada en todo el mundo.
A partir de 1915 se dedicó casi por completo a este proyecto, hasta que murió.

Comienza a escribir su apellido de manera harto curiosa.
Si para algunos pudiese quedarle poco claro que perteneció a la Masonería, casi con la representación de la “G”, que nos recuerda el compás, el cincel y el aparataje que un arquitecto de su altura precisaba, ya se nos sacaría de dudas.
Pero si de altura hablamos, no podemos pasar de largo el punto de la “i” que deja en un plano muy inferior a la parte central de esta letra.
Es más que evidente que su autor tenía la mente en algún lugar inaccesible para nosotros .
Su visión del mundo se le hacía sucia y terriblemente banal.
(Pastosidades en la “i” y en el trazo descendente de la mayúscula).
De hecho, tiende a redondear en exceso la zona superior, la “a”, la “d”, la “G” que encierra sobre sí misma como si guardase un magnífico tesoro en su interior.
Esa apertura espaciosa de la primera vocal nos indica que gozaba de todo lo que suponía transformar los elementos.
Al cerrar el bucle de esta letra celosamente hacia la izquierda sólo pretende salvaguardar esas ideas propias para que en un futuro incierto otros terminasen de realizarlas.
