Las leyendas urbanas consideran que el graffiti no consiste en llenar simplemente de inscripciones los muros y paredes de una ciudad.

Se pretende mas bien que a través suyo, exista un mensaje social que desea hacerse eco de la forma más artística posible.

 Ya la arqueología ha podido comprobar que desde hace siglos  en  columnas y santuarios, se hayan grabados restos de escritura a modo de protesta contra los dirigentes de aquellos tiempos.

Pero es a partir de 1960 cuando este boom explosiona de la mano de los movimientos raciales que habitaban en EEUU.

Sus barrios, convertidos en auténticos guetos, se agitaban peligrosamente con el fin de denunciar su situación.

Es por ello que consiguieron llegar con sus pintadas hasta todos los estratos de la población sin que los trenes tampoco se salvasen de este “particular maquillaje”..

Ellos se convirtieron en la publicidad errante del malestar popular.

Hacia los años 70 consolidaron al hip-hop como su himno graffitero en la década de los 80.

A la gran mayoría de ciudadanos, esta nueva moda les resultaba sucia y fastidiosa.

Podían encontrar firmas o rallados en los lugares más insospechados, espejos, porterías, buzones de correos, escaparates…

…Las autoridades tenían que tomar cartas en el asunto.

De todos es perfectamente conocida la lucha sin cuartel que estos autores mantuvieron y aún mantienen para intentar burlar al cuerpo policial.

Pueden trabajar en grupo o en solitario, pero siempre de forma anónima y tratando de desarrollar su labor en un tiempo récord.

En España, este movimiento surge especialmente en Madrid con el peculiar “estilo flechero” siendo el mítico “Muelle” el primero en aparecer.

Tras él le siguieron otros como Bleck La Rata y Glub que llenaron el metro con sus firmas respectivas.

La proliferación de estos grupos ha llevado a diversos ayuntamientos a que se creen espacios reservados para el graffiti.

La evolución poblacional ha ido modificando las técnicas intentando elevar sus creaciones a la altura de obras de arte.

De hecho, se han conseguido realizar exposiciones culturales y concursos para canalizar posibles actos tildados de vandálicos.

Pero nuestra globalización planetaria ha crecido demasiado para poder acallarla.

Nos encontramos frente a un fenómeno de masas con un muy interesante análisis.

Para el grafólogo, el estudio del graffiti debería ser un nuevo puente de actuación.

Conseguir hacer entender a la población lo que detectamos entre sus elementos léxicos y visuales.
