El otro día, navegando por Internet, me encontré con un Blog que recomiendo leer y que bajo el título “¿Qué será de…?”

Me puso sobre aviso ante la importancia real de cargar la ya apretada agenda de los más pequeños.

Personajes del  cine infantil como la inolvidable Pipi Calzas largas, Matilda, Steve Urkel, Macaulay  Culkin  o Christina Ricci, son un pequeñísimo ejemplo.

Llama la atención que esta actividad según la Organización Internacional del Trabajo (OIT), se defina como: «aquella que daña la salud de los niños y perjudica su educación, su desarrollo y su futura calidad de vida».

Hace especial énfasis  al decir que es «una violación a los derechos fundamentales de los niños, porque les impide acceder a la educación.

Además atenta contra su salud y desarrollo y los priva del tiempo del juego y la recreación».

¿Qué pasa entonces con los niños actores?

Nos hemos acostumbrado a que nos metan por los ojos esas preciosas caritas que quizás en la edad adulta dejen de serlo.

No nos extrañemos que nosotros mismos, en el nombre del avance y de la popularidad, estemos cortando la rama de árbol en la que nos hemos sentado.

Siendo una cría de unos tres años de edad, ya las letras del abecedario.

A la hora de ir a parvulitos, aventajaba con creces a mis compañeros.

Al principio todo eran elogios por parte de familiares y profesorado.

Pero las contraindicaciones añadidas me hicieron comprender la trampa.

Aplaudo el  que hoy por hoy se contemple el hecho de no apretar las tuercas a los infantes al menos hasta los 7 años.

A mis hijas a las que envié a una guardería Waldorf   se respetaba al 100% el avance libre de cada cual.

Al cambiarlas de Centro Escolar, tenía auténticas dudas de los cambios negativos que pudiesen producirse en  ellas.

Afortunadamente no fue así.

La tarea más importante de la escuela no puede ser proporcionar conocimientos de por sí, sino el arte de “enseñar a aprender”.

Los niños han vivido hasta ahora en un mundo concreto, en el que cada cosa era aquello que representaba.

Con las letras no ocurre lo mismo.

De por sí no representan nada: solamente significan algo.

Los niños piensan en imágenes. Este modo de pensar alcanza su punto culminante entre los seis y diez años más o menos.

Aprender a leer y a escribir antes de esa edad tiene como consecuencia, según Rudollf Steiner, una debilitación física.

Este aprendizaje requiere fuerzas interiores que el niño aún necesita para el desarrollo puramente orgánico
